In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her debut single Here. It became a smash hit and was praised by critics and listeners alike. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of 2015. That same year, she released her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which reached the top of Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track as, due to the interview with Rap-Up that she held with many of people who listened to her music could identify with her journey of discovering their own love and doubting her. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her music. Everything stems from her personal experience as she suffered from mental health problems and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, her album is described as challenging and refined. Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on July 11, 1996, to parents from Italian heritage. She received a guitar from her parents at the age of became a teenager and it sparked her passion for the music. She began singing covers of the songs she loved at 13 in order to show that world that she had the talent and courage needed to sing. One of the songs Sweater Weather got her discovered by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write the songs.
